A European blogger “Ivana” presently in KASHMIR take on social media quoting Kashmir to be the toughest place she has visited in terms of Harassment

Tourists often, and understandably, have reservations about visiting Kashmir. After all, this picturesque region is prone to civil unrest and violence. It’s been declared off-limits to tourists on a number of occasions. There have also been a few isolated incidents, with Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley being temporarily shutdown. However, tourists always begin returning after peace is restored.

So, is it safe to travel to Kashmir? Kashmir has always been paradise for the travelers in terms of hospitality and generosity of the people. Their has been no cases or complains of harassment on streets or no such news is heard on the subject matter in many many years. There is a huge presence of Indian military there and it makes the place feel a little weird but for tourists the place has always been safe and secure.
The below post of the solo traveler however who alleges to be stalked on streets and been harassed is the first of the incident to come up in recent years which is a surprise to most of the local population. The post however seems to be more of creating an attention rather depicting a real problem.  Looking at the travelers Facebook Page she only has 2k likes on her page with posts and some bold pictures mostly about her travel vlogs. if the traveler had faced any serious harassment issue or felt unsafe she should have reported it directly to the local police station or brought the matter in concern to the local place of her stay. The people their ,i am sure had taken the matter more serious and dealt it more sensibly.
It looks like an deliberate attempt to bring a bad name to Kashmir Tourism the way she has quoted few lines in her post.
Her post has been widely criticized by many Facebook users :

Even J&K Tourism quoted  ,”Kashmir as the safest place to travel for solo women travelers “

Saadiya Kochar, a famous solo traveler quotes about Kashmir ,Some of the kindest, most hospitable people I’ve met in my life are Kashmiris.
